To ensure maximum security, our firewall blocks all non-standard ports. In special cases, it may be necessary to open non-standard ports for locally operated systems or to open ports for external services.
The Progressive Robot Console function Open Ports supports both IPv4 and IPv6.
How do I activate individual Open Port rules?
You can define the individual rules under "Services; Settings; Open Ports".
Note: Activation may take up to one hour.
Open Port rules
Since each Open Port rule slows down the restart process of a server, we have placed a limit on the number of possible rules. It is also not possible to open port ranges.
Parameters
- Type: You can choose between "The service is located on this server" (Incoming) and "The service is located on an external server" (Outgoing).
- Protocol: TCP or UDP. TCP is usually used.
- IP: IPv4/IPv6 address or subnet
- Port: Only unprivileged ports are allowed (between 1024 and 65535).
If you need to open a port below 1024, please contact our support team. Please note: To open ports below 1024 is only possible on managed servers.
Overview
In the overview, you can see all active Open Port rules, and the ones you are currently using. You can edit or remove individual Open Port rules here.
Add Rule
In this menu item, you can add new Open Port rules.
Advanced View
In Advanced View, you can easily insert and update your complete configuration with one click. Note the release type. If the service is located on this server, please use "IN". If you want to connect to an external server, please use "OUT".
You must use square brackets around an IPv6 address (for example, [2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334] ).
Drop All Rules
This deletes your existing Open Port rules.
