Supported DNS record types

The Domain Name System (DNS) is composed of several record types called resource records. Hetzner Online's DNS Console supports most common and traditional record types, as well some newer types introduced to provide innovative services like DNS Certification Authority Authorization.

 

Supported records

Our DNS Console supports the following record types:

  • A
  • AAAA
  • CAA
  • CNAME
  • MX
  • NS
  • SRV
  • TXT

 

Additional records

You also can create these other record types manually in a BIND file:

  • PTR
  • DS
  • TLSA
  • DANE
  • HINFO
  • SOA
  • RP
